QGIS is included in the Debian repositories that should be part of the
sources.list of LMDE.

Since LDME is based on Debian testing you should have reasonably recent
package versions.

If you're looking for the QGIS packages upstream provides itself, you'll
need to add the APT repository for jessie as documented on the QGIS site:

http://qgis.org/en/site/forusers/alldownloads.html#debian

Other packages found in the UbuntuGIS PPA are based on the packages from
Debian unstable that make their way to Debian testing after a short
time. There is nothing special you need to do to get them, just `apt-get
install` them.

There are some version changes between UbuntuGIS and Debian testing.
UbuntuGIS already switched to GDAL 1.11.0 for example, which we need to
transition properly to integrate it with the rest of the archive. Debian
testing therefor still has GDAL 1.10.1.

Kind Regards,

Bas
