Re: [DebianGIS] Re: New logo designs

2006/5/9, Hamish <hamish_nospam@yahoo.com>:

For the Mollweide, could the b,a,n letters of "debian" have a 1 pixel
white/grey border? (feathered to grid layer?) Having the swirl logo
right against it makes it hard to read and looks slightly harsh,
especially the red swirl.

Thanks! YES, it does look better, as it improves the legibility.

Update on the page.

Does it look better if you keep the "i" dots red for the grey version?
Just the "gis" dot red? (looks like a marker on the planet that way)
?????

I made the grey version as an aid to b&w printing, like manuals and such.
For web, and other colored media we should use the color one.
As I mentioned on the page, I cheated on the swirl grey, because the
RGB>GREY conversion gave a darker grey than the one I used (70%
instead of 60% black)

At home I have another mollweide based design, a bit slimmer than the
current one. In 5 hours I'll be at home and will update the page. Stay
tuned.

Again, logos are available for viewing, editing, commenting at:
