We have to differentiate here:

- The compilation of GRASS does not stop (see line 23470
in your make.log: "Finished compilation: mar gen 31 16:24:33 CET 2006").

- It is the building of the package which fails with:

/usr/bin/ldd: line 161: /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2: cannot execute binary
file
dpkg-shlibdeps: failure: ldd on
`debian/grass/usr/lib/grass/bin/r.sim.water' gave error exit status 1
dh_shlibdeps: command returned error code 256

So there is something on your machine which makes "fakeroot
dpkg-buildpackage" fail.

Could you try to (on a fresh CVS checkout, i.e. doing "cvs co grass6" into
an empty directory) compile it as root, i.e. not with fakeroot, but just
dpkg-buildpackage ?
Also, please uncomment the DH_VERBOSE line in your debian/rules file.
