hi didrik, friends,

postgis is one of those packages depending on pg_config.

beginning with the forthcoming postgis-1.1, upstream postgis will be
using pg_config, too.

thus, it will be no problem to make it depend on the newer postgresql
scheme. but postgis is currently supporting postgresql 7.2 and newer, so
that alternative dependencies should be supported, anyway.

i will happily change the dependencies, but i have few questions:

will postgresql 8.x coexist with stable 7.4 ?
will both servers run at once?
