Indeed. 609665 is about being able to use the Debian dependency system
to avoid the situation where all versions of gij installed on the
system give the mismatch, i.e. that at least *one* gij on the system
will successfully use the .jar.so files.

This bug is about graceful fallback when the mismatch happens.
