This idea is already around for some months; debian-embedded people have 
tried to implement it, but I'm not aware of current status. Anyway there's 
a wishlist bug against dpkg-cross for this, and it's in TODO

AFAIK this wes rejected in the past, because there are too many host-target 
combinations, each one usable only for a few people (if any at all).
