It would appear that 3.1 is OK.  Nicholas Clark responded to a message
of mine on the perl5-porters mailing list regarding -Duse64bitint:

I can double-check myself when I have a chance, but I guess that you can
probably close this report, or at least tag it in some way to identify
that it's 2.95-specific.

WHat is the status of 3.1 WRT building packages?  Should or shouldn't we
be using it yet?
