Bug#118648: Please use /etc/alternatives for the name 'jar'
Package: fastjar
Version: 1:3.0.2-0pre010922
Severity: wishlist
Using /etc/alternatives for the name 'jar' would be nice.
Quoting from the "Proposed Debian Java Policy"
(http://people.debian.org/~bortz/Java/policy.html): "(...) Java
compilers _must_ provide java-compiler and depends on java-common. They
_should_ use /etc/alternatives for the name 'javac' if they are more or
less command-line compatible with Sun's JDK javac. (...)".
I think this suggestion for Java compilers applies to "Java archivers"
too.
