Il y a deux choses : le driver et la config.

Pour le driver, il devrait être pris en compte au démarrage. Dans le fichier 
/etc/modules tu dois avoir une ligne le concernant :

pjb@lux:~$ cat /etc/modules
# /etc/modules: kernel modules to load at boot time.
#
# This file should contain the names of kernel modules that are

Dans mon cas j'ai une clone NE2000 PCI (ne2k-pci), tu peux voir que j'ai 
aussi une carte son et une carte SCSI advansys. Au boot, il trouve ma 
carte :

	pjb@lux:~$ dmesg
	(...)
	ne2k-pci.c: PCI NE2000 clone 'RealTek RTL-8029' at I/O 0xfcc0, IRQ 9.
	eth0: RealTek RTL-8029 found at 0xfcc0, IRQ 9, 52:54:00:DE:84:CE.        
	(...)

Pour le driver c'est ok. Pour la config maintenant : dans le fichier 
/etc/network/interfaces :

	pjb@lux:~$ cat /etc/network/interfaces
	# /etc/network/interfaces -- configuration file for ifup(8), ifdown(8)
 
	# The loopback interface
	iface lo inet loopback
 
	# The first network card - this entry was created during the Debian

et dans le fichier /etc/hosts :

et si tu lances la commande suivante (attention il faut être root) :

tu vois que ta carte est configurée (la cmd 'netstat -nr' est aussi ton amie).

Ce qui m'amène à poser deux questions :

1. Comment faire, post installation, pour régénérer les fichiers de la config 
réseau, /etc/network/interfaces surtout. (un jour j'ai refait une install 
rien que pour ça !)

2. Les collisions c'est ok (je pense) mais quid des erreurs dans mon ifconfig 
?
