[Freedombox-discuss] What do you use your FBX for?

I agree it's difficult and inconvenient but the firewall in your home
router is not there to restrict you, but to protect you. It is the
responsibility of the router manufacturer to clearly document the why
and how of the internal firewall. It would be nice if the FreedomBox has
an easy to use program to analyse network security.

What worries me the most is that people do not know that their setup is
insecure. To give you an example: Last week the Dutch TV program
Reporter discovered that 16000 iOmega NAS servers could be accessed from
the Internet without password authenticating. On these servers they
discovered very sensitive information like doctors patient records and
even passwords of Europol computers. The owners of these iOmega servers
had no idea that iOmega security is turned off by default (it's more
convenient for the user...)
