[Pkg-fonts-devel] Fwd: Re: Bug#599059: merging Tuffy font fork errors

Hello Thatcher,

sorry for forwarding these mails to you without further context, but they also hit me out of the blue. I am the maintainer of the Tuffy fonts package in Debian.

One of your co-authors is obviously unsatisfied with your work integrating his changes back into Tuffy 1.27 but chose to blame me instead. I'd like to get both of you into contact to straighten out these issues, but I fear there is not much that *I* can do for it.

If you like, please keep pkg-fonts in the CC so we can follow the discussion.

Best regards,
Fabian

Hi adain and last,
The source files of Tuffy of the original author (uploaded nowadays
for testing) is full of bugs. I say one: font info. Tuffy Regular
contains kursive tag in various languages, not standardized and so on.

I know. In the Debian package the bogus kursive tags are removed by
means of a patch before compiling the fonts into TTF format.

Saved otf. Not set PANOSE information.
OKAY, I know this is Public Domain and anyone can do it with anything
even use it in toilet. But don't ruin my data built accurate by
myself. This is outrageous but I don't care a rap anymore.
Bye

I din't ruin anything. I just took what was released by the original
author of Tuffy as a new tarball and made a Debian package out of it.
If you do not understand the implications of this progress, please
refrain from putting blame on random people!
