First you need a kernel with IPv6 support. If compiled as a module (e.g. 
Debian kernels) :

# modprobe ipv6

You can add "ipv6" in /etc/modules so the module is loaded at boot time.

Then you have to configure your interfaces and some programs, depending 
on what you want to do with IPv6.

Debian has an IPv6 mailing list : debian-ipv6@lists.debian.org
