Should work OK if you set the netmask to 255.255.254.0, otherwise you would 
only be able to use IPs 10.0.0.0 and 10.0.0.1 (which are network and 
broadcast respectively ;-).

Naa, not necessary. However, I really wonder which net might be big enough to 
need more than 254 dhcp based Ip addresses without having major performance 
problems.
