This are additional terminal definitions. You only need them if you are
using some more terminal types which are not linux, vt100, sun, vt102,
ansi, rxvt, vt220 or dumb. These definitions are allready included in
ncurses-base.

Could be used in some scripts. M4 is used to generate the sendmail
configuration. But not at runtime. In hamm I only found wml, sendmail and
autoconf packages depending on m4. m4 has priority 'standard', therefore
you don't need it on a stripped down system.
