I don't know about "Embedebian", but RTAI on any non-x86 architecture
is a dead horse.

For PowerPC (both old arch/ppc and new  arch/powerpc  configurations)
you  should look into Xenomai. It comes pre-configured with our ELDK,
and at git://www.denx.de/git/linux-2.6-denx.git you can find a kernel
tree that is kept in close sync with the Xenomai project.

It should be no problem to combine such a kernel tree with  the  rest
of your distro.
