Package: dpkg-cross
Version: 1.29
Severity: wishlist

When converting linux-headers-2.6.17-1-nslu2 (and similar packages)
the following dependencies are useless:
  linux-kbuild-2.6.17
  gcc-4.0

It would also be useful if removedeps supported wildcards, to cover different versions.

-- System Information:
Debian Release: testing/unstable
  APT prefers testing
APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental')
Architecture: i386 (i686)
Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash
Kernel: Linux 2.6.16-2-686
Locale: LANG=sv_SE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=sv_SE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8)

Versions of packages dpkg-cross depends on:
ii binutils 2.17-1 The GNU assembler, linker and bina
ii dpkg-dev 1.13.21 package building tools for Debian
ii file 4.17-2 Determines file type using "magic"

dpkg-cross recommends no packages.

I believe this bug is actually closed by the -X option provided by
dpkg-cross >= 1.38 and in the absence of a reply, I'm closing the bug
report. Please contact me if there is still a problem.

e.g. to fix your original problem:

dpkg-cross -X linux-kbuild-2.6.17 -X gcc-4.0 -b linux-headers-2.6.17-1-nslu2
