Re: New Emdebian Server available

Hello,

First of all thank you Allen :)

A small question, is there also a builddaemon running on that one? (because of
the buildd.emdebian.org, or is it in the planning?)

Sounds very interesting. I just wonder if it is going to work well over the net.
I cannot imagine something like distcc running very well over the net

I believe several developers might have a reasonable system they could try to
fit in a building infrastructure. I looked it up (and even with the very high
memory prices) you can build a reasonable system (duron 1800, motherboard,
cooler, 512 MB ram, case, 80Gb HD, without screen keyboard and mouse) for under
400 euros in all brand new parts. So chances are they own such a system. Of
course it isn't a new dual G5, but it should already compile quite good, coupled
with fast internet access it could be used to distribute the compiling work. And
if I had more or less permanent internet access I wouldn't mind to give console
access to one of my more powerful desktops.

regards,

Philippe
