Not just graphical user interfaces. General user interfaces. It
defines things like "File" should be on the left side of the menu, and
should include an "Exit" option, "Help" should be on the right side of
the menu. It also defines a number of keybindings, like Alt-F4 for
exit. There used to be a fair number of CUA-compliant text-mode apps
back in the day.

Anyway, this is badly off-topic. And I'd like to take this
opportunity to remind people that the debian-emacsen list is for
*developers*, and is not a user support list. (IOW, the entire thread
is actually off-topic.) General HOWTO questions about emacs should be
directed to one of the many emacs support channels or to debian-user
if it's a debian-specific question.

I'm sure none of us mind answering the *occasional* noob question, but
please don't make it a habit. Thanks.

cheers
