Hi,

Honestly, I have to take back down problem. It seems that its not running local apps that is the problem after all. I updated yesterday to 6.04 and now sound is very strange...

Running a thin client it might work for some time (you get the usual welcome noise, and maybe a few seconds of sound from flash before it crashes), then I get the message about alsa crash. You have to reboot to get sound back. Not only logout.

Running with local apps, the crash comes immediately after login, no sound at all.

Running as diskless workstation, no problem with sound at all.

Everything on the same thin client (hp t5630)
I have played youtube files with flashplugin-nonfree but since alsa crashes it affects all sound on the thinclient.

This has to be some kind of a bug? I read that other people also had problems with sound and version 6.03 but I didnt really  find a solution that works for me.

Any suggestions about what to do to figure out the problem?

Sometimes I get an additionally kmix crash (especially as thinclient, just logging in and out after alsa crash.) I dont know if it helps, since alsa has already crashed when this occurs.

Crashlog from kmix;

Application: Kmix (kmix), signal: Segmentation fault
