Re: getting Debian Edu related updates into squeeze before next point release (was Re: gosa update for squeeze-proposed-updates)

Hi Adam, dear D-E team,

Adam, thanks a lot of this explicit statement.

other updates for squeeze) into squeeze, squeeze-updates resp. before
point release 6.0.5.

I'm a little confused as to what you mean here. The set of packages in
stable doesn't change outside of point releases - that's rather the
definition of a point release.

That's what I thought already, thanks for the clarification.

The context: we want to release Debian Edu squeeze probably before
6.0.5 point release and for this we need all the necessary (fixed)
packages in squeeze or (I think) in squeeze-updates.

As I mentioned above, they can't be in Squeeze before the next point
release. In terms of squeeze-updates, I'm not convinced that the gosa
update meets the published criteria for packages released via that
suite. Other packages might, but it's difficult to speculate without
specific details.

Ok. Thanks!

Given that we're (I assume) talking about -edu maintained packages,
would(n't) taking them from p-u be an option?

This is very probably the way to go. Petter, Holger, what do you think? Is it possible to draw packages from squeeze-proposed-updates directly into our DVD/CD images?

Greets,
Mike
