Interesting idea, but I do not really understand the context of your
proposal.  Why do you have the impression that this improves
performance?  How did you measure this?  Why do you believe rpc.statd
isn't needed on workstations?  Is this because they only use NFSv4, or
was there some other reason?

rpc.statd is only needed with NFSv3. NFSv4 does not use rpc.statd anymore. Furthermore, NFSv4 does not need the portmap deamon anymore, either.

I am not sure about the performance improvement, never encountered a loss of performance. But having some ports less being open on TJENER is worth closing down the named services, isn't it?
