Since we're all using the web... not every program has to be installed on a local server.
For online courses I'd suggest looking at the National Repository of Online Course (NROC) and their HippoCampus.org
Their courses are multimedia and quite extensive as you will see.
The other I'd recommend is Curriki.org
Those two sites alone have create classroom course for K-12 (sometimes beyond).
