Bug#548249: please do not surpress output of dpkg-divert

Package: debian-edu-artwork
Version: 0.0.30-2
Severity: minor
User: treinen@debian.org
Usertags: edos-file-overwrite

Hello,

debian-edu-artwork.preinst calls dpkg-divert with option -quiet. I find it
irritating when diversions are not reported to stdout since almost all
other packages *do* report file diversions to stdout, so I expect file
diversions to be reported. The natural question is why there is an
option "-quiet" to dpkg-divert, then, and I can't tell you the answer.
However, it seems to be common pratice to not use -quiet and not to
redirect the output of dpkg-divert, so I'd like to ask you to follow
this practice unless you have a reason not to.

I noticed this when checking for file overwrites during package installation
(http://edos.debian.net/file-overwrites/) since debian-edu-artwork
shares a file with gdm, so I was wondering why there is no error and
yet no visible trace of a file diversion in the installation log.

Thanks -Ralf.
