As discussed recently on debian-edu (cf. URL), the file alter[n]ation monitor
daemon leaves zombie processes in userland that block an entire CPU (100%).

So please, remove package "fam" from LTSP installation. Replacement with
"gamin" could be discussed, maybe even add package "and" (Auto Nice Daemon) to
prevent any process to take over (DoS).
