[Bug 1284] TC don't boot through with 3COM NIC

Further news:
Today I tried the NIC in question with a different PC. And guess what:
No trouble at all. Now we have:
Old Mainboard + 3COM NIC + Skolelinux 3.0 -> fail
New Mainboard + 3COM NIC + Skolelinux 3.0 -> OK
Old Mainboard + DLINK NIC + Skolelinux 3.0 -> OK
Old Mainboard + 3COM NIC + Skolelinux 2.0 -> OK
We also tried using a different PCI slot. There were no IRQ conflicts.
Last chance (besides exchanging the NIC - there is 10 of them!) is to upgrade
the BIOS:
Award Bios 4.51PC
P6BAT-A+ Ver1.0c
