I am trying to use the Kiosk tool to modify the KDE menu. I am logged
on via a thin client as root.
First i have created a separate profile for the teachers. Also i have
associated this profile with the teachers group.
When i try to edit the KDE menu it is as though the changes are never
saved.
What can i be doing wrong?

Yes, something is probably prowrong with the kiosktool that comes
installed, try do install the one in our test-repository, download the
package and install with "dpkg -i kiosktool_1.0-2~edu.etch+1_i386.deb"
http://ftp.skolelinux.org/skolelinux/pool/local/k/kiosktool/kiosktool_1.0-2~edu.etch+1_i386.deb
Check which version you already have installed with "dpkg -l kiosktool"
Also make sure that the servers are upgraded.
