[Bug 1285] New: OpenOffice uses alot of local resorces from the thin-client

http://bugs.skolelinux.no/show_bug.cgi?id=1285

Summary: OpenOffice uses alot of local resorces from the thin-
                    client
           Product: Skolelinux
           Version: etch-release-3.0r0
          Platform: x86
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: major
          Priority: P1
         Component: System distrubution
        AssignedTo: debian-edu@lists.debian.org
        ReportedBy: daniel.royert@hurum.kommune.no

When printing certain documents and just using OpenOffice apps, the thin client
begins to work excessively then runs out of memory and tries to swap over the
network, but locks up instead. Apperently there's a bug in the includede
thin-client kernel, so it can't use network swap. I installed a 2.6.22-3-486
kernel from backport on the servers, after that the thin clients can swap and
doesn't lock up. But it doesn't solve the problem with the thin-clients starting
to work. With the new kernel, instead of crashing or locking up, the thin-client
swaps between 0 to 80 Mb for about 30 seconds when printing certain documents.
Sometimes the thin-clients still crash, if it has a high resolution (1280x1024).
