Try setting up an nic dummy0 with ip 10.0.2.2 and netmask 255.255.255.255
And you can try to setup eth0 with allow-hotplug, instead of auto. I
guess things will boot faster then.
Not sure if bind and dhcp will restart if you plug in eth0 after the
machine is started, but I guess you can tell me :)
