once every 2-3 hours. Is this really critical? Or just fine and normal?
These two entries both are SOFT alerts. It's configurable how many
attempts Nagios will make before deciding that a check has shown a
failed service, but usually it is set to three. If the second test shows
the service to be OK, then no notification is sent out. This is what you
see here. I would not worry too much unless this is recurring on a
regular basis. But again, the prudent thing is to try to find out why
Nagios finds particular services not responding. This has little to do
with Nagios and everything to do with normal sysadmin work.
How can I re-activate mii-tools with my e100 module? Any clues?
Sometimes ethtool is better than mii, not all cards support MII.

P.S.: After setting loglevel to 264 (256+8) in slapd.conf, this is the
