Weekly report week 38, and next step
* Meetings
- Planing the work with informing about software patents
- Participating in a panel debate at JavaZone. From the report[1]:
The final session was a panel debate where Richard Stallman of the
Free Software Foundation met Raghavan "Rags" Srinivas from Sun, Knut
Yrvin from the Norwegian Linux In Education project and a few
politicians. The topic was "The future of software
development". Kevlin Henney moderated a interesting debate where
Stallman once again explained the difference between open and free
sourcecode. The two politician escaped relatively harm-free, but had
to bid pass on a few occasions. Knut Yrvin was the happiest person
on the panel, while Raghavan "Rags" Srinivas would not commit to
open-sourcing Java.
