 Subject: [free-culture] events this week

 Hi all,

Hope everyone is enjoying their day off! There are several events of note this week:

On our end, please join us this Wednesday, October 13, at 5:30pm in the 13th Floor Courant Lounge for a Linux release party and key signing party! Come hang out, we'll have food and plenty of Live CDs and USB drives if you want to install Linux.

Also, there are several IP related panels happening this week:

Net Neutrality: The Law and Economics of Regulation
Tuesday, October 12th, NYU Law Vanderbilt Hall Room 210 @ 7:30-8:30 PM

A policy that has been garnering headlines, net neutrality is viewed by some as essential to the functioning of the Internet. But what exactly are the implications of foregoing such a policy? Our panel will discuss the recent Comcast v. FCC decision, which limited the government's power to regulate Internet Service Providers, and the practical effects of net neutrality from the perspectives of both economic theory and business reality.

miss this free networking opportunity and discussion of rights and practicalities under state, federal, and foreign laws. This program is free of charge, however registration is necessary:
