Is it intended that there be a debhelper shim for this that adds the
appropriate bits to all of the appropriate packaging scripts?  That
would make it even easier to get it right.

Note that I may have modified these further since, check the Ubuntu udev

Have you ever, ever felt like this?
Had strange things happen?  Are you going round the twist?
