Bug#245261: dpkg: --print-avail option truncates package names
Package: dpkg
Version: 1.10.20
Severity: normal
The --print-avail options lists things nice ... but it is useless
for postprocessing, because the package names are turncated. I propose
a) either widen the package listing column
b) provide new option --full which would print the package name
AND the description in full length. Now the package descriptions
are also truncated.
An example:
If I wanted to remove libipc-signal-??? I couldn't consult this
listing. And I'm too cautious to use something like libipc-signal*
for remove regexp.
