I just stress tested the Maintainer field, including making it the first field in debian/control, making it a 7000 character long field, and making sure its a freeform text field (I used unbalanced number of < and >). I also added a really funky custom field. I don't know the dpkg code, and I don't know what the procedure is for closing unreproducibles, but I agree with Adam that dpkg appears to work. Justin
