That's a problem, mmh?
Indeed there is a bug report against perl-base for including POSIX (for
other reasons), so it may be a good idea to go this route.
However, evem missing POSIX, there are still "-d", "-e" etc for testing the
existence. This works without any perl modules. The code has to be restructured
for this, of course. Or you hack around it in C, which is bad, IMHO.
