mailman: security upgrade errors out with confusing and ineffective instructions

The wrong way. I found somewhere instructions saying "to get things in
the release notes, write to robster", and I did that. I can't find
these instructions again.

What do you suggest this "elsewhere" be? Would mailing list archives
be appropriate?
