The instructions are still accurate as far as we know. The main problem seems to be that booting off USB-sticks is often not supported by the BIOS. (My own Toshiba laptop is unfortunately unable to boot from USB.) If you can find an alternative method to set things up, we'd be very interested to add this to the Installation Guide.
