No need for a new element. Just extend enumlist a la LaTeX, which considers
it perfectly normal to have lettered tags in an "enumerate" environment.
It seems the docbook dtd allows for quite a wide range of cases. In
keeping with the simplicity of the rest of debiandoc, you might just
want to stick with adding docbook's "numeration" attribute for
orderedlist:
Numeration (Arabic
|Upperalpha
|Loweralpha
|Upperroman
|Lowerroman) #IMPLIED
Or abbreviate to "num". Thus <enumlist num=upperalpha> would work for
the FDL.

Thanks. Shall I file the wishlist based on the above, then? I'm not
sure whether you're looking for detail in the wishlist, or just the
general idea of what is needed.
