Re: Wrong path for RTF mapping

Hi.

I will add the code to warn and abort in sgmltools when the specified
input file is written in other dtd than linuxdoc.

And I will change the description of this sgmltools package to note
that this sgml-tools package is designed and implemented only to handle
the linuxdoc dtd documents, and will not be enhanced to support other dtd.

(I will change this line)

 | Description: SGML converters for the linuxdoc DTD only.
                                                       ~~~~~
(These lines are the same as previous version)
 |   The Linux Documentation Project advise using this set
 |   of SGML parsers to generate HOWTO's and books. LaTeX,
 |   ASCII, HTML, PostScript and roff can all be generated
 |   from one SGML source file.
 |   .
 |   HTML can be generated without any other Debian text
 |   processing package, but for the other formats the
 |   appropriate packages will have to be installed.
(I will add the sentences below)
 |   .
 |   This sgml-tools has been designed and implemented only
 |   for linuxdoc DTD. Since the upstream completely moved away
 |   to the developemnt of sgmltoolls-2, this set of tools would
 |   not be enhanced to handle other DTD documents.
 |   .
 |   If you wish to convert debiandoc DTD documents,
 |   Please install and use debiandoc-sgml package.
 |   If you wish to convert docbook DTD documents,
 |   Please install and use jade or sgmltools-2 package.
With these changes, I will close this Bug#36944, and Bug#26090 also.
I wish to point out that I have not CLOSED this bug yet, as you see.
I wish to classify the bug reports, because this sgml-tools package
gathered many bugs (not so many compared to the big three, but I had to
look the reports more than 20 at least), and I need to distingush
the REAL and URGENT bugs such as Bug#27855 and Bug#24467 from other reports.
Please do so.
And you have to use "make doc" if you wish to make documents
in boot-floppies/documentation tree. The documents such as
 install.${LINGUA}.sgml needs additional files such as messages.ent,
dynamic.ent, and defaults.ent.
No. sgml-tools does work for linuxdoc dtd documents, and currently
no other tools in Debian can not do this work. Many users need this
facility because a lot of LDP HOWTOs are written in linuxdoc dtd.
 (LDP: Linux Documentation Project, as you know)
>   b) Does it look in the wrong path?
No. Since it has been designed and implemented completely for
linuxdoc dtd only, so the error messages are wrong, and it should
abort when the wrong input file is supplied.
> If b) why not fix b)?  If a) it will be more difficult, I agree.
As I wrote above, I will fix to let it warn and abort.
Thanks for your feedback.
