What I understood as "needlessly trigger[ing] removals", when I read your reply to the bugreport, was not the issue being non-serious (since you didn't mention that reason in your post) but instead "the current ftp-masters mess". Thank you for clarifying your reason for lowering severity. Personally I disagree with it, but you are the maintainer so I respect it.
