GNT is an ncurses toolkit for creating text-mode graphical user
interfaces in a fast and easy way. It is based on GLib and ncurses.

It was born out of the console-based UI, Finch, for the libpurple
project.

This code is currently part of the Pidgin upstream tarball and thus the
pidgin source package, but is being broken out upstream for the next
release.  Accordingly, I am breaking it out into a new package in
Debian.  I am working with Ari Pollak, the pidgin package maintainer.

My intention is to prepare the package using a development snapshot so
that everything is ready in advance for the 2.14.0 releases of libgnt
and Pidgin. Given that this is already a stable library and going to be
a dependency of the next minor release of Pidgin, I am leaning towards
uploading to unstable rather than experimental, but I can be convinced
otherwise.

This package will be maintained on Debian Salsa at (not yet created):
