In most gnome-apps, CTRL+SHIFT+u,2,0,2,6 will give you the … character.
Likewise, CTRL+SHIFT+u,    2,5,9,B will propulse you back to the ZX81
charset (▛) (you can use pretty much any unicode hexadecimal codepoint).
