I wouldn't rush to label our "ifenslave" as obsolete: in version 2.1 Guus
Sliepen replaced (obsolete) `ifenslave` binary with a tiny shell script. Ever
since updated "ifenslave" was working very well for me.

Yes, since version 0.9.10.0-2 "network-manager" links to "libteam" but I'm yet
to see configuration examples how to set-up NM for NIC bonding/teaming and how
to convert "ifenslave" configuration. Until then NM is not a replacement to
"ifenslave"...
