I have a 4096-bit RSA key and the overhead is not very noticeable when
doing normal development. The only time it seems noticeable is when
you're doing a rebase -S. I do recommend using passphrase caching with
gnupg-agent (or gnome-keyring, or whatever) when rebasing, though, so
you don't have to enter your passphrase repeatedly.
