use of debian/scripts/ folder

hi,

after the (not so) recent discussion on the use of 'debian/upstream/',
i'd like to question one of my own packaging practices:
whenever i feel the need to use small scripts in my packaging (scripts
that are called during the build phase, e.g. in order to work around
upstream weirdnesses), i tend to collect them in a folder debian/scripts/
i like this approach as it doesn't pollute the debian/ namespace too
much, and clearly distinguishes between build-scripts and e.g.
"maintainer-scripts".

now i wonder: is this good practice? is debian/scripts/ a good place to
put things into? is there a DEP-x on the way that reserves a file
"debian/scripts" for other purposes?
