Bug#694666: ITP: python-pampy -- Python module for simple PAM authentications

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Mike Gabriel <mike.gabriel@das-netzwerkteam.de>

* Package name    : python-pampy
  Version         : 0.1.4
  Upstream Author : Chris AtLee <chris@atlee.ca>
* URL             : http://pypi.python.org/pypi/pam/0.1.4
* License         : MIT
  Programming Lang: Python
  Description : Python module for simple PAM authentications

Provide an authenticate() function that will allow the caller to
authenticate a user against the Pluggable Authentication Modules
(PAM) on the system.

The module pam.py is a single file, implemented using ctypes, so
no compilation is necessary.

The pam.py module (package will have a single .py file) eases PAM
authentication with Python tremendously (compared to using the PAM
module from the python-pam package. PAM authentication becomes a
one-liner.

The original upstream project name is Python PAM. As this interferes
with the python-pam package name, I chose python-pampy is package
name. Any feedback on this name change is welcome (any other feedback,
as well).
