To distinguish them from any other scripts for adding, editing and
identifying patches, checking symbols, merging changelogs, etc.

"udt-*" is simply a way to refer to the origin of the scripts.

Most of the scripts in devscripts have reasonable names. "debthis"
and "debthat".

However, I think the following are misnamed:

  annotate-output
  chdist
  chdist
  cowpoke
  dch
  dcmd
  dcontrol
  dget
  diff2patches perhaps
  getbuildlog
  grep-excuses
  licensecheck
  list-unreleased
  manpage-alert
  mass-bug
  mergechanges
  namecheck
  rc-alert
  svnpath perhaps
  tagpending
  transition-check
  uscan
  uupdate
  who-uploads
  whodepends

I think these could plausibly be provided by some other program which
is unrelated to Debian packaging.

Ian.
