That package version is buggy afaics. Seems r895 is *after* 1.1.0 GA (see CHANGES),
and not before.

Buildd problems. Not my or Debians area.

No. libmysqclient-dev is correct even in Ubuntu (see packages.ubuntu-com/libmysqlclient-dev)
