Hi Al,
I'm sorry for opposing your proposal before. I didn't check the automatic .po installation feature of drupal 6.x (as long as a .po is in /etc/drupal/6/profiles/default/translations it will be loaded by all sites).

I'd like to make available a separate package for each translation, so admins can choose the ones they need, and would like each package to install it's .po in the path above, so that it's installed automatically.
