It's what's used in emails when exchanging patches, it's not at all git
specific. It's just that git has a convenient way to generate these.
We're looking into using an RFC 2822 style format, why not something
that can be directly used as a mail message. It makes exchanging patches
simpler.

We can have Forwarded:, Origin:, Received-by: in this format as well,
